I MIGHT NOT BE THE Videographer FOR YOU...
Hi! I'm Michaela, the principal videographer here at Your Wedding Story. Guess what? I’m actually not the wedding videographer for everyone.
But if you’re the kind of couple who want to capture the heartfelt love, warmth and joy between your family and friends on your wedding day minus the cheesy, lovey dovey, Hollywood style footage that makes you cringe, we will be a great fit!
Coming from a journalism background, I believe your wedding video shouldn’t just be a visual montage set to music. It should take people on a journey and tell a story about who you are as a couple, what you mean to each other, and what your family and friends mean to you.
Forget about staring awkwardly into each other’s eyes in a field of wheat, or any other ridiculous poses that don’t feel natural to you. Instead I focus on the friends and family who mean the world to you and the deeper significance of the day. It’s actually all about the little moments. The mixture of nerves and excitement rolling through your tummy as you prepare in the morning, the moment your groom glimpses you walking down the aisle and his eyes start welling up, the moment your grandmother hugs you after the ceremony and you feel so grateful she was able to see you get married, the hilarious best man speech that has people wiping away tears of laughter... It’s these moments that make me believe weddings are sacred, and a little bit magical.
Weddings are this rare moment in time when everyone you love comes together to back you and wish you well. A rare moment when it is OK to cry in public, and talk about love, and acknowledge the people who have shaped you.
That is what I capture in a time capsule so you can relive it again and again, immersing you back in those moments in a way photos alone can’t.
THANK YOU NOTES
"We LOVE the video! My God, you are one of THE MOST talented, creative, amazing, caring, thoughtful people we have met. You are so amazing both professionally and personally and I am so grateful we got to share our wedding day with you. You have captured the most important day, with the most important people in our lives so perfectly and in such a way that is true to who we are. This is what we have for the rest of our lives - all that is left is these memories and for you to capture that for us - I don’t have the words to thank you. And the extended footage - Gaahhh SO OVER THE MOON!!!! It's crazy incredible perfect amazing. And the app is stunning!!!! You have given us so so so so so much and put so much work into all of this!"
Michaela and her team from Your Wedding Story were incredible from start to finish - I honestly couldn't recommend them more highly!
Do you only film Brisbane weddings?
Although I am Brisbane-based, my team and I are available throughout South East Queensland.
Do you offer wedding photography?
Find out what we offer on our photography page >>
Do you offer raw footage?
We don't offer the raw files, as these are quite unwatchable... but we do offer lightly edited extended footage from the whole day which is a wonderful keepsake. More about our videography packages >>
My fiance is camera shy - is that a problem?
Absolutely not. I meet with each couple for a coffee prior to the wedding so that when I turn up on your wedding day you feel more at ease. And it's my job to make you feel relaxed in front of the camera, and in many instances, forget I am even there. So I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to achieve this!
